All five are doubles, with a double bed and a private bathroom with shower. One is upstairs in the attic, with roof windows. The only difference is the view: the garden, or the town from a balcony.

Evenings by the barbecue and the gazebo
The part guests remember is behind the house: the brick barbecue, the covered terrace with its beams, stone walls and kitchen, and the gazebo in the garden. All of it is for guests, at no extra cost.

Close to the Transfăgărășan, Vidraru Dam and Poenari Fortress
Curtea de Argeș is the southern gateway to the Transfăgărășan, which makes it an easy base for the mountains. Everything worth seeing sits on one road: head up to Poenari and Vidraru in the morning, back to the barbecue by evening. Distances are from our gate.

A 7-minute walk. The church built by Neagoe Basarab, the one in the legend of Master Manole. Romania’s kings are buried here.

In the old Princely Court, from the 14th century, when the town was the capital of Wallachia.

Vlad the Impaler’s fortress, on a cliff above the Argeș valley. Climb its 1,480 steps and the whole valley lies below you.

A 166-metre wall between the mountains, with the lake stretching out behind it. Worth stopping to walk across the top.

Bâlea Lake, on the Transfăgărășan
At 2,034 metres. The mountain section of the road is usually open from July to the end of October, 7:00–21:00. Check before you set off.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

How much is a night?
The garden-view double is 200 lei a night and the balcony double 220 lei, for two people (about €40–44). Some periods may be priced differently, and the host confirms the price when you book.
Is breakfast included?
We don’t serve breakfast. You’re welcome to use the fully equipped kitchen on the covered terrace, and there’s coffee at the bar.
Where do I park?
In the courtyard, free of charge. The courtyard has video surveillance.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no. Pets aren’t allowed.
We’re travelling with children. Is that OK?
Yes, children over one are welcome. We don’t have cots or extra beds, so little ones sleep with their parents. Ask us about the price for children when you book. There’s a play area in the yard with a trampoline and swings.
How far are the Monastery, Poenari Fortress and Vidraru Dam?
Curtea de Argeș Monastery is 600 metres away, about a 7-minute walk. Poenari Fortress is around 25 km and Vidraru Dam 28 km, on the Transfăgărășan (DN7C). More under Surroundings.
